Had 4 bets last week on the Wyndham Championship on Henrik Norlander

Top 20
Top 10
Top 5
To Win

He withdrew before the tourney started. No action? Or loss?

Agreed it should be no action. My local graded it loss, and his pph rules clearly state it is a loss. I was shocked, to me it's like grading an over a loss in a baseball rainout.

The true test to me is, if I had bet him to miss the cut would it have been graded a win? I'm sure no.

Anyway thanks guys for the feedback.

I guess whenever someone withdraws on Wednesday, all locals using this pph do a little dance, because every outstanding bet on that golfer is a win for the book. Talk about a racket.

I guess that means I have to wait until Thursday morning to put my wagers in.

I would not deal with a local that was that hard up for cash...

my price per head site says the same thing but a good local would likely credit it back. those sites grade everything in the books favor but if you have been dealing with the guy for some time i would guess its no big deal. the bet never happened, it should be no action.

I would do 2 things:

1) See if your PPH has a live chat and request a credit. if that didnt work then:
2) Tell your local your problem. He should be able to get a credit:

If that doesnt work then i would be pretty pissed and possibly look for a new local

in golf futures "to win" that don't start always graded as a loss but top 5-10-20-40 are always no action. but it's a local so....his rules, i guess

this stuff happens all the time, especially the week before a major or an important tournament...very surprised he went straight L's across the board. i use heritage, fanduel, bovada, and betMGM for golf and all of them have the exact same rule except for how they grade ties (like if you have 1st round leader and 3 guys had the same score). bizarre to wipe the board with L's, sorry man

He credited it back, but don't wanna have to go through this every time it happens so I'm trying to convince him to change the rule.

Loving them! Hard to get used to the strong loft, pulling 1 less club still feels wrong a lot of the time and I end up flying the green. I sweet spot them way more often than I did my old Callaway's though, and when I don't they are definitely more forgiving. Shanked an 8 iron the other day and it still got up on the green; ball flight was ugly but it still squirted straight.

awesome

cant go wrong with Srixon irons, they click all the boxes-- looks, feel, forgiveness, distance. For me -sole and feel was the kicker!!

great feeling hitting less club than before, haha.

nice good to hear

this shit happens to me all the time when i see a guy just catching form (especially jan/feb) and then i place a long-odds future bet for masters or british or pga, etc. = obviously a lot rarer for a guy to pull out the day before a tournament but that's also why i never place future bets until Thu morning when it's the week before a big event. If a player doesn't think the course will help prep him for the big event next week they just pull out unless they're sponsored for the tourney.

with covid hitting the last 6-7 majors i had maybe 4 dudes (scheffler, scott, hideki for sure) not start and graded a loss and it just happened again with Rahm to medal in Tokyo. It's the risk you take when you want to hit great odds you don't think will last

He cant change the rule as he has to follow the website's rules.

However he can get a refund for ya and unfortunately you will have to go through this again if this happens

I've never seen a book refund a non-starter for a bet to win the tournament, so that's perfectly normal. What's not normal is those bets taken either h2h or to finish inside a specific number, those are always refunded.

btw for golf bettors FanDuel just started doing a "To Win" market without the top 5 lowest odds. For example JT was 28/1 against full field but still a juicy 21/1 to win without DJ, Rahm, Xman, Morikawa, and Spieth. I expect they will keep that prop going throughout the playoffs

I do think it has to do with whether its listed in a futures market or not , and the shop you bet it at... I have had refunds before.. Seem to recall getting Koepka refunded in recent past.
